These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy. Paid coaching, memberships, courses, events, and products may also have a separate client, program, registration, or checkout agreement. If a specific agreement conflicts with these Terms, the specific agreement controls for that offering.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By purchasing, registering for, creating an account for, or participating in a service, you agree to the Terms presented to you during that process.
Your use of our public website is subject to the provisions of these Terms that reasonably apply to website visitors. If you do not agree, do not use our websites, services, communities, or materials.
We may require a separate written or electronic Client or Program Agreement before coaching or a paid program begins. That agreement may include session scope, scheduling, no-show rules, confidentiality limits, refund terms, and client responsibilities that are not fully set out here.
2. Educational and Coaching Purposes Only
Our content and services provide educational information, general wellness guidance, coaching support, and faith-based encouragement.

- Emergency or crisis care
- A substitute for care from a licensed healthcare professional
Coaching helps clients explore goals, choices, habits, and personal accountability. It does not establish a physician-patient, therapist-client, dietitian-client, or other licensed healthcare relationship.

3. Your Responsibility for Medical Care
Consult a qualified healthcare professional before making material changes to your diet, physical activity, medications, supplements, treatment plan, or other health practices, particularly if you are pregnant, have an eating disorder, have a diagnosed medical or mental health condition, or are experiencing concerning symptoms.
Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking care because of information received from us.
Do not stop or change medication without consulting the professional who prescribed it.
If you believe you may be experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, call 911 or contact an appropriate emergency or crisis service immediately. Our websites, email, communities, and coaching services are not monitored or designed for emergency communications.
4. Voluntary Participation and Assumption of Risk
Your participation is voluntary. Health, nutrition, exercise, lifestyle, and behavior changes can involve risks that vary according to your health, medical history, physical condition, and circumstances.
By choosing to participate or act on information we provide, you acknowledge that:
- You are responsible for deciding whether an activity or suggestion is appropriate for you.
- You are responsible for consulting qualified professionals when needed.
- You accept responsibility for your choices, actions, and results.
- You will stop an activity and seek appropriate care if you experience pain, illness, distress, or other concerning symptoms.
You assume the risks associated with your voluntary participation to the extent permitted by law.
5. No Guarantees
Individual results vary. Testimonials and examples describe individual experiences and do not guarantee that you will receive the same results.
We do not promise or guarantee:
- Weight loss or maintenance
- Improvement in a medical condition
- Emotional or behavioral changes
- Financial or business results
- Completion of a program
- Any particular personal, spiritual, or professional outcome
Your results may depend on many factors outside our control, including your health, effort, circumstances, resources, and participation.
6. Faith-Based Content
Our content and services may reflect a Christian worldview and may include Scripture, prayer, biblical teaching, and faith-based encouragement.
By using our content or services, you acknowledge that Christian content may be included. You are not required to share these beliefs, but you are responsible for deciding whether our approach is appropriate for you.
7. Eligibility and Account Information
Our paid coaching services, memberships, accounts, and interactive programs are intended for people at least 18 years old unless we expressly approve a minor’s participation with written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
Our website and general educational content are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
You agree to provide accurate billing, contact, and account information and to keep that information current.
8. Purchases, Payments, Refunds, and Subscriptions
We may offer books, downloads, coaching, courses, memberships, workshops, event registrations, or other products and services.
Prices, payment schedules, renewal terms, cancellation provisions, and refund policies will be disclosed on the applicable sales, registration, or checkout page or in an offering-specific agreement. You agree to provide accurate billing information and authorize the applicable payment processor to charge the stated amount.
Except where otherwise stated at purchase or required by law, purchases of digital materials are final once access or delivery has been provided. Coaching, memberships, events, and courses are governed by the cancellation and refund terms presented during registration or purchase or in the applicable Client or Program Agreement.
We may change prices or discontinue an offering at any time. A price change will not affect a completed one-time purchase. Any recurring charges will be governed by the terms disclosed when you enroll and by applicable law.
Subscriptions and Automatic Renewal. Some offerings may renew automatically. When applicable, the renewal price, billing frequency, renewal period, cancellation method, and other required terms will be presented clearly before purchase. We will obtain any consent, provide any notices, retain any required records, and offer cancellation methods required by applicable law.
If an offering does not renew automatically, the purchase information will say so. Do not assume that a program renews unless the purchase process states that it does.
If a payment is reversed or remains unpaid, access associated with that payment may be suspended while the matter is resolved.

10. Community Participation and User Content
If you participate in a Circle community, coaching group, workshop, meeting, comment area, or other interactive space, you agree to communicate respectfully and lawfully.
You may not harass, threaten, shame, or discriminate against another person; post unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or misleading content; share another participant’s personal information or story without permission; promote products without authorization; upload malicious software; impersonate another person; use community information to solicit members without consent; or scrape or harvest content or member information.
You retain ownership of content you submit. By posting content in an interactive area, you give us nonexclusive permission to display, reproduce, and use it only as reasonably necessary to operate, moderate, and provide that area.
We will not use a participant’s personal story, photograph, private testimonial, or identifying information for public marketing without separate permission.
We may quote a review you chose to post publicly on a third-party site such as Amazon about a book or product of ours. We will quote it accurately and make clear it is a public third-party review. We will use a name only if that site displays one and its terms allow us to use it. Otherwise we will use a generic attribution, such as “customer review.” You may email info@onesteptowellness.com to ask us to stop future use of that quotation. We will not take an email address, profile photo, or other unused personal details from that site to market to you.
Community spaces are not completely private. Other participants may see, save, or share information despite community rules. Do not post information you would not want disclosed to others. We may remove content or suspend access when we reasonably believe these Terms or community rules have been violated.
11. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity occurring through your account.
Notify us promptly at info@onesteptowellness.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
You may not share paid account access or login information with another person.
12. Third-Party Services, Links, and Affiliates
We may use or link to services operated by third parties, including MailerLite, Substack, Circle, KingSumo, Stripe, Calendly, WordPress, Zoom, Google Meet, Amazon, Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, and IngramSpark.
These third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control their websites, security systems, availability, content, or business practices.
A link or reference to a third-party service does not necessarily constitute an endorsement. You are responsible for reviewing the terms that apply when you use a third-party service.
Some links or product mentions may involve affiliate or other compensated relationships. We will disclose a material relationship where required. You are never obligated to purchase a recommended item.
13. Website and Service Availability
Our websites, services, and materials are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that access will always be uninterrupted or error-free; that every statement will be complete, current, or free from error; that content will work with every device; that files will be free from harmful components; or that a particular feature will remain available.
We may correct errors, modify content, restrict access, or discontinue an offering at any time, subject to any applicable agreement and law.
14. Electronic Communications
By creating an account, making a purchase, registering for an offering, or submitting your email address, you consent to receive operational messages related to your account, purchases, scheduling, community access, and these Terms.
Marketing emails are sent only with your consent or as otherwise permitted by law. You may unsubscribe using the link in those emails. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional messages needed to provide a requested or paid service.
15. Session Recording
You may not record, photograph, or transcribe coaching sessions, workshops, or community meetings without our prior written permission.
If we record a session or event, including through Zoom or Google Meet, we will provide notice and obtain any consent required by applicable law before recording begins. A recording will be used only for the disclosed purpose unless you provide separate permission for broader use.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Julia Fikse, One Step to Wellness®, Dear Food®, and Food Peace™ will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, our websites, services, communities, or materials.
This includes loss associated with decisions based on educational content, interruption of service, loss of data, third-party platforms, unauthorized access, or interactions with other participants.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for a claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded, restricted, or limited.
17. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Julia Fikse, One Step to Wellness®, Dear Food®, Food Peace™, and their contractors and authorized representatives from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, and reasonable legal expenses arising from your unlawful misuse of our websites, services, or materials; content you submit or distribute; your infringement of another person’s rights; or your material violation of these Terms.
This provision does not require you to indemnify anyone for conduct for which indemnification cannot legally be required.
18. Termination
You may stop using our websites and services at any time.
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect participants, enforce these Terms, prevent unlawful conduct, address nonpayment, or protect our content and systems, subject to applicable law and any offering-specific agreement.
Termination does not eliminate payment obligations or provisions that reasonably should remain in effect, including intellectual-property, liability, dispute, and indemnification provisions.
19. Governing Law and Informal Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Before filing a legal claim, you and we agree to send a written description of the dispute and allow 30 days for a good-faith attempt to resolve it informally. Notices to us may be sent to info@onesteptowellness.com.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency relief, bringing an eligible claim in small claims court, or exercising a right that cannot legally be restricted.
Subject to applicable consumer law, if a court proceeding is permitted under these Terms, it must be brought in a state or federal court located in Los Angeles County, California. You and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Our websites and services are operated from the United States. If you access them from another location, you are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.
20. Arbitration and Class-Action Waiver
Please read this section carefully. It affects how disputes are resolved.
Except for eligible small claims and requests for emergency injunctive relief, disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved through individual binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under the rules applicable to the dispute, to the extent permitted by law.
Arbitration may take place remotely unless an in-person proceeding is required. If an in-person proceeding is required, it will take place in Los Angeles County, California, unless applicable law requires another location.
Consumer arbitration fees will be allocated according to applicable law and the administrator’s consumer rules.
Claims must be brought individually. Neither party may pursue a claim as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding, except where applicable law does not permit this restriction.
If a portion of this arbitration provision is found unenforceable, the remaining enforceable portions will continue to apply unless doing so would fundamentally alter the parties’ agreement.
21. Events Beyond Our Reasonable Control
We are not responsible for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including illness, family emergency, platform or internet outages, utility failure, labor dispute, government action, natural disaster, or other circumstances that make performance impracticable.
When reasonably possible, we may reschedule the affected service, provide a reasonable substitute, issue a credit, or refund an amount attributable to an undelivered portion, as appropriate and subject to applicable law and any offering-specific terms.
22. Assignment, Waiver, and Relationship of the Parties
You may not assign these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a sale, merger, reorganization, or transfer of the business or relevant assets.
Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision. These Terms do not create a partnership, joint venture, employment, fiduciary, or agency relationship.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when our services, practices, or legal obligations change.
The revised version will be posted with a new “Last Updated” date. Material changes will apply prospectively. When applicable law requires notice or new consent before a change applies, we will provide that notice or obtain that consent.
24. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be modified or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any terms presented with a specific purchase or service constitute the agreement between you and us concerning that offering.
